Uncovering Nostalgia: Rediscovering the Sharp PC-7000
Recently, while organizing my shed, I stumbled upon a fascinating relic from the past—my father’s trusty Sharp PC-7000 portable computer. This little gem is a true testament to the technological advances of its time.
I can’t help but recall the excitement of that moment when I unearthed the device. The picture you see here captures it resting on my lap, a juxtaposition of modernity and nostalgia. Due to its age and an apparent aversion to spiders, this computer has been relegated to the shed, yet when I plugged it in, it sprang back to life, much to my surprise.
What truly amazed me was the fact that we still possess floppy disks for it! It’s incredible to think that this was once cutting-edge technology, accompanying my dad to his classes and enabling him to take his work on the go.
As I reflect on this discovery, I’m reminded of how far we’ve come in the realm of personal computing. The Sharp PC-7000 serves not just as a functional device, but as a nostalgic symbol of an era defined by innovation and discovery. It’s a wonderful reminder of how technology shapes our lives and the memories we create alongside it.
