Unearthing a Vintage Treasure: Discovering the Sharp PC-7000
While going through some boxes in the shed recently, I stumbled upon a remarkable piece of technology from the past – my dad’s portable computer, the Sharp PC-7000. This little gem, which had been tucked away for years, immediately piqued my nostalgia.
The only photo I managed to capture was of the PC resting on my lap, a testament to how portable it is. To my surprise, it still functions when plugged in, despite having spent most of its life in the shed among cobwebs and the occasional spider. What’s even more exciting is that I still have the floppy disks that accompanied it!
It’s fascinating to think about how advanced this device was during its heyday. My father used to take it to classes, showcasing just how revolutionary portable computing was at that time. As I reflect on this discovery, it not only serves as a reminder of technological progress but also holds sentimental value, linking me to my dad’s experiences in a world that was on the brink of digital transformation.
This encounter has inspired me to delve deeper into the legacy of portable computers and the impact they have had on our current technology. I can’t wait to see what other hidden treasures await in the shed!
