While tidying up the shed, I came across my dad’s handheld computer.

Uncovering Hidden Treasures: A Nostalgic Find in the Shed

During a recent clean-up of our shed, I stumbled upon a fascinating piece of technology from the past: my father’s portable computer, the Sharp PC-7000. It was a delightful surprise and immediately transported me back to a different era of computing.

This compact device still has a certain charm, despite its age. I snapped a quick photo of it resting on my lap, showcasing its vintage design. For preservation’s sake, we keep it in the shed to protect it from the inevitable dust and occasional spider inhabitants! After plugging it in, I was pleasantly surprised to see it power up—proof that some pieces of nostalgia still hold up after all these years.

Interestingly, we even have a collection of floppy disks that go along with this relic. It’s remarkable to think that this was once considered cutting-edge technology. My dad used this computer in his classes, and it played a significant role in his academic journey.

Finding the Sharp PC-7000 was a true trip down memory lane, reminding me of the rapid evolution of technology. It serves as a conversation starter as well as a cherished family heirloom, and I look forward to exploring what treasures lie within those old floppies! If only these devices could tell their stories of classrooms and late-night study sessions.
