Unearthing the Past: A Discovery in the Shed
While recently tidying up my shed, I stumbled upon a fascinating piece of technology that transported me back to a different era: my father’s Sharp PC-7000 portable computer.
For those unfamiliar with this relic, the Sharp PC-7000 was considered cutting-edge during its heyday. I couldn’t resist taking a snapshot of it resting on my lap, a nostalgic reminder of simpler times. Unfortunately, due to the presence of spiders, it has been relegated to the great outdoors, specifically the shed. Despite its forgotten home, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it powered on without issue when I plugged it in.
What truly amazed me was the preservation of the accompanying floppy disks— a rare find in our modern digital landscape. I can only imagine the countless hours my dad spent using this device, taking it to classes where it surely impressed his peers with its compact size and advanced technology.
