Troubleshooting My Acer GD245HQ Monitor: An Odd Dilemma

I recently encountered an unusual issue with my Acer GD245HQ monitor that I felt compelled to share in the hopes of finding some answers or suggestions from fellow tech enthusiasts.

Lately, I’ve been experiencing a strange phenomenon: every time I turn off my monitor using the power button at night, it refuses to power back on in the morning. Ironically, this only resolves after a prolonged period of being unplugged—typically around two days.

After a brief hiatus from using the monitor, it miraculously comes back to life. This frustrating pattern has repeated itself on four separate occasions now. On the latest occasion, I decided to unplug it for a solid five days, and it started working again.

It’s worth mentioning that I’ve completed gaming sessions like finishing Grand Theft Auto V without any issues, and the cables appear to be functioning perfectly. To further troubleshoot, I tested the monitor with a different one and even swapped out various cables to ensure that the problem did not lie there.

Here’s the routine I typically follow: I shut down the monitor using the power button at night, but the next morning, it remains unresponsive despite the button being perfectly functional. So, I resort to using my other monitor in the meantime. Oddly enough, after waiting for a couple of days, the Acer unexpectedly powers on again. I’ve encountered this same issue multiple times, and I’m left perplexed as to why this happens.

I’m incredibly grateful to discover that others have faced similar quirks with their monitors. I initially thought I was alone in dealing with this perplexing conundrum, but it’s reassuring to know I’m not. Considering the investment I made in this monitor, I’m eager to get to the bottom of this issue.

As for my current setup, I’m solely using the power cable for testing purposes, so the graphics card isn’t a factor at the moment. Does anyone have insight into whether monitors like mine contain capacitors that could be causing these bizarre power-related problems? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!
