Why Is My Phone Spontaneously Playing Music at Night? Help Needed!
Have you ever experienced the baffling phenomenon of your phone suddenly blasting music in the middle of the night? If you’ve found yourself awake at 2 a.m., scratching your head as your Samsung S20 FE 5G serenades you with your favorite tunes, you’re not alone. I’m reaching out to see if anyone can shed light on this unsettling issue before I consider making an ill-advised trip to the Apple Store for a new phone that I can’t really justify buying.
I’ve been a proud owner of my Samsung S20 FE 5G since April 2021, but in the past couple of months, this peculiar music-playing saga has intensified. Initially, it was just an occasional occurrence, but now it seems to happen almost every night between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Imagine getting cozy in bed, only to be startled awake by your Spotify app blasting your liked songs at full volume. It’s not exactly the peaceful night’s sleep I’m hoping for!
At first, I thought there might be a connection to my phone auto-restarting every Monday at 3:30 a.m. since the episodes often lined up with that timing. However, I’ve now discovered it can happen any night of the week, and it’s always my liked songs that are played—regardless of what I was previously listening to. If I had been jamming out to a different playlist, the app seems to shuffle my liked songs instead.
It’s been days of this relentless musical intrusion, and it’s driving me up the wall. I’ve ruled out the alarm function, as that works differently; when an alarm triggers Spotify, I can silence it normally. Instead, this seems to happen directly through the app, even when it’s closed, with control coming from the media playback interface in my notification panel. It’s as if Spotify has developed a mind of its own and is determined to keep me awake!
If anyone has encountered a similar problem or has any ideas on how to remedy this bizarre situation, I would greatly appreciate your insights. Let’s put an end to my late-night jam sessions!
