Recovering Deleted Files from an SD Card: Seeking Software Recommendations

Final Update: Success! I Was Able to Retrieve All My Files! Thanks to Everyone for Their Support!

Hello, fellow tech enthusiasts!

I recently faced a challenging situation with my Kootion Pro 64GB micro SD card. After attempting to transfer approximately 15GB of .wav files to my external hard drive, I discovered that some of the files didn’t fully transfer and now appear to be deleted from the SD card. This has left me in search of reliable recovery software to restore my lost files.

I’ve been looking into R-Studio, as it seems to have good reviews for data recovery, but I’m open to any other software suggestions that you might have. My setup includes Mac OS 15.3.1, and I’m planning to recover the files onto my Seagate 2TB One Touch external hard drive.

While I have a decent understanding of computers and some code, my familiarity with R-Studio is limited to its statistical applications. So, I have a couple of questions: Are the R-Studio data recovery software and the R programming language related? And can I utilize R-Studio to write code for the recovery process? I haven’t found much guidance on this topic, which only adds to my anxiety about the potential data loss. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Update: A huge thank you to everyone who responded so quickly! It turns out that all hope is not lost after all. At the very least, I can now humorously blame my boss for this situation! 😅😂 Cheers to all for your help!

  1. Hi there,

It’s great to hear you’ve successfully recovered your files! When dealing with SD card data loss, using reliable recovery software can make all the difference. Given your setup on macOS 15.3.1, I recommend trying out tools like Disk Drill or PhotoRec, both of which are compatible with Mac and support SD card recovery.

    Important tips:

    • Avoid writing new data to the SD card to prevent overwriting the deleted files.
    • Connect the SD card directly to your Mac using a good quality card reader.
    • Run the recovery software in read-only mode if possible to protect the data.

Regarding your questions about R-Studio and the R programming language:

    • R-Studio software is a dedicated data recovery utility. It is *not* related to the R programming language used for statistical computing. They are separate tools with different purposes.
    • Generally, R-Studio does not involve writing
