Version 73: The young applicant who sought internship interview tips ended up signing the offer letter.

Exciting News: Landed My First Internship!

I’m thrilled to share some fantastic news with you all! I recently sought advice on preparing for internship interviews in the r/cybersecurity community, and I’m excited to announce that I have secured my very first internship contract!

In just three weeks, once my summer break begins, I will be signing the NDA and internship contract. For the next three months, I’ll be diving into a web application project alongside a fellow QA intern. This invaluable experience will not only enhance my skills but also offer me a unique glimpse into the world of cybersecurity.

If I perform well during this internship, there’s a great possibility of transitioning to a part-time contract afterward—with compensation to match my contributions.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to my earlier post. Your support and insights made a real difference in my journey, and I’m truly grateful. Love you all! <3

P.S. I appreciate all the congratulations and warm messages, as well as the awards—thank you for making this moment even more special!

  1. Congratulations on securing your internship! That’s a fantastic achievement, and it sounds like you’re on an exciting path into cybersecurity. To ensure a smooth onboarding process and make the most of your internship, here are some recommendations:

    • Review your contract and NDA carefully: Make sure you understand all clauses, confidentiality requirements, and your responsibilities.
    • Set up your development environment: Confirm all necessary software, access credentials, and tools are provided to start working on the web application project effectively.
    • Establish communication channels: Ensure you have contact info for your supervisor and team members, and clarify preferred communication platforms (email, Slack, etc.).
    • Document your progress: Keep detailed notes of your tasks and learnings to track your growth and prepare for future roles.
    • Seek feedback regularly: Engage with your mentor or supervisor for constructive feedback and advice to improve your skills during the internship.

If you encounter technical issues or need additional resources, don’t hesitate to reach out to your company’s IT support team or use the internal support portal. Also, make sure your local environment complies with cybersecurity best practices, especially if handling sensitive data.

Best of luck in your internship journey
