Seeking Guidance on Replacing My ThinkBook G4 Keyboard with a Japanese Layout

I’m looking to upgrade the keyboard on my ThinkBook G4 and I have my eye on a Japanese version. While I’ve found a Japanese keyboard that’s designed for the ThinkBook G2, I’m curious if it’s feasible to use it on my G4 model. Both keyboards are the same dimensions, and all keys appear to be identical, so they should physically fit my laptop.

However, I’ve noticed that the connectors have different traces. Interestingly, I’ve encountered varying trace designs for different localization layouts on the G4, which adds to the complexity of the situation.

If anyone has experience or knowledge regarding the compatibility of these keyboards, I would greatly appreciate your insights. Do you think the Japanese keyboard for the G2 could work on my ThinkBook G4? Your expertise could really help me make an informed decision!
